BRADLEY UNIVERSITY / MusiCenter Grade School PIANO COMPETITION
(Sponsored by the Kawai Piano Company and the MusiCenter)
SATURDAY, JUNE 5, 2010
Prizes Totaling $800
Location: Dingledine Music Center (Bradley University campus), corner of Institute and Barker Streets in
Peoria Illinois.
This competition is open to all grade school students in Peoria, East Peoria, Morton, Washington,
Metamora, Pekin, Dunlap, and Chillicothe .
There will be two winners from each grade; each one will receive:
1st place - $50 Gift Certificate
2nd place - $50 Gift Certificate
Each student will have a total of 5 minutes to perform for the judge. The judge reserves the right to
hear all or a portion of each selection. Each winner will have the opportunity to perform the composition
that he or she played during the competition on a “Winners Recital’ to be held on that day; this performance
will be held in peters Recital Hall at Dingeldine Music Center and will be open to the public.
The decision of each judge will be final
RULES FOR THE COMPETITION:

Music can be performed with music or from memory.

Classical (Classical does not refer to the era-1720-1820) typical type of music from any of the
standard teaching material sources, e.g. Clementi, Burgmuller, Faber, etc.

Bring one copy of the music you will perform; this copy will be for the judge.

Deadline: May 7, 2010
- Applications will be online only and must be submitted before May 7, 2010.
- There is a limited number of students that will be accepted to play in each grade level, so submit
your
entries as soon as possible before May 7th; acceptance will be made on the order your
application is
received.
